Obtaining a permit to use a TSR

Community use permits

A Livestock Health and Pest Authority may issue a permit authorising use of a TSR by sporting and recreational groups, for example, to hold a gymkhana or cross country running event. Permit holders are required to have a suitable level of public liability insurance and abide by permit conditions.

Apiary site permits

TSRs are a valuable resource for apiary industry. A Livestock Health and Pest Authority may issue a permit authorising the establishment of an apiary on a TSR. All permit holders must be registered under the Apiaries Act 1995.

Given the potential danger posed by bees to both humans and livestock, beekeepers must follow permit conditions.
