New office, same service at Maitland

18 Mar 2011

The Cumberland Livestock Health and Pest Authority is moving its Maitland office from the current location on the New England Highway to a site at the Maitland saleyards.

Greg Wood, Cumberland LHPA general manager, says the move is part of the Cumberland LHPAs efforts to continue the provision of services to the Maitland district, while maximising efficiencies in operating costs.

"We are aiming to have the new office operational for the start of business on Monday 28 March," said Mr Wood.

"Services will continue at the current office up until close of business on Tuesday 22 March to allow equipment to be relocated to the new office.

"In the interim, the district vet and ranger based out of the Maitland office will be available on mobile phone. NLIS tag orders can be placed by telephone through the Camden office. Rate enquiries can also be directed to Camden office.

"Importantly the move will not result in a change to service, staff or opening hours. The new office will retain the existing Maitland office phone and fax numbers."

Mr Wood said the location of the new office on the saleyard site off Kyle Street is a convenient location to deliver LHPA services.

"Our vets and rangers will have easy access to the saleyards for livestock health and stock identification activities. Furthermore our staff will be able to assist landholders who are attending the local sales if they have enquiries," Mr Wood said.

"The existing office is being rented to fully offset the costs of the new office."
