LHPA acknowledges outstanding service of CEO

30 Nov 2010

LHPA State Management Council Chairman Ian Donges has thanked Chief Executive Officer Steve Orr for his outstanding commitment and service following his resignation today.

Mr Donges said the council accepted Mr Orr’s resignation with regret, acknowledging the contribution he has made to the organisation over the last 10 years.

Steve Orr, who has been with the Livestock Health and Pest Authorities since 2000, will leave the organisation on 31 January 2011 to take up a new role.

"I want to congratulate Steve on over 10 years of dedicated service, both to the organisation and the wider agricultural community," Mr Donges said.

"Steve has steered the organisation through a period of tremendous change, and he leaves with the appreciation of LHPA directors and staff across NSW.

"Most significantly, Steve was the driving force in implementing the reforms which resulted in the old Rural Lands Protection Boards being replaced with 14 Livestock Health and Pest Authorities, dedicated to providing more efficient and effective services to the rural community."

Mr Donges said recruitment for Mr Orr’s successor will commence soon. To ensure the continuity of business, the LHPA Management Council will appoint an interim senior executive during the transitional period.

"The State Management Council wishes Steve and his family all the best in the future and we thank him for his stewardship of the organisation," Mr Donges said.
