Central West landholders urged to report flood damage
Landholders affected by floods in the central west of the state are urged to report damage or losses so they can be assessed quickly.
Central West Livestock Health and Pest Authority General Manager Narelle Rodway said damage could be reported directly to the Central West LHPA office or to the I&I NSW hotline number.
‘Our rangers are working with individual landholders in the Coonamble, Mendooran and Gilgandra areas helping them prioritise what needs to be done on flood-affected land,’ Ms Rodway said.
‘This helps us coordinate assistance, whether it is on-the-ground help or assistance with accessing natural disaster financial assistance, where applicable.’
‘Where people have lost fencing, stock or plant and equipment, or suffered damage to crops, dams or other farm infrastructure, they may be able to access financial assistance.
Ms Rodway said LHPA field and office staff are liaising with Industry & Investment NSW and the State Emergency Service to direct resources to where they are most needed.
Producers wanting to report flood damage can either contact the Central West LHPA on (02) 6882 2133 or the I&I NSW Emergency Hotline on 1800 814 647.
