Applications for State Council directors closing soon
People with suitable skills are being encouraged to submit expressions of interest by the end of this week for the two appointed positions on the Livestock Health and Pest Authorities State Management Council.
Applications for the two independent positions on the State Council – to be appointed by the State Policy Council selection committee – will close this Friday 13 November.
The organisation is looking for people who have expertise, experience or qualifications in one or more of the following areas:
- Financial management
- Corporate governance
- Agricultural production including but not limited to:
o Livestock health
o Grazing management
o Pest animal and pest insect management - Public relations and stakeholder engagement
- Business
- Law
- Information technology
- Issues in NSW related to the functions of LHPAs
- Strategic planning and risk management
Livestock Health and Pest Authorities State Policy Council chairman, Lawrie Donoghue said he encourages people with the relevant skills to submit an application.
"This is an opportunity to be involved in the strategic direction of an organisation dedicated to safeguarding agriculture in NSW," Mr Donoghue said.
"The selection of the two new members will mark the final step in the reform process for the Livestock Health and Pest Authorities that commenced at the start of this year."
Successful applicants will be appointed through to 31 October 2013.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by Friday 13 November to the Chairman, State Council Selection Panel, Locked Bag 21, Orange NSW 2800.
