1080 and Pindone courses proving popular
Due to demand, the Tablelands Livestock Health and Pest Authority is holding another 1080 and Pindone accreditation training course in Goulburn during July and seeking interest from landholders for further courses to be held across the district.
Tablelands LHPA senior ranger, Mark McGaw says the last two courses held in Goulburn during June were booked out.
"Landholder participation has been very good so far and we’re encouraging those who haven’t done the training yet to come on board," he said.
"The next course will be held in Goulburn on 15 July, starting at 3pm.
"The Tablelands LHPA will continue to provide this course as long as there is demand and enough participants can attend in one location – so register your interest in attending a course.
"There are clear benefits for landholders in completing the course – it allows landholders, who do not hold a current AQF3 certificate, to obtain 1080 and Pindone baits for use in fox, rabbit, wild dog and feral pig control programs.
"An effective fox baiting program alone will easily pay for the course several times by minimising stock losses and therefore maximising returns."
The course will cost $22 for Tablelands LHPA ratepayers. Those completing the course will be issued a certification card and remain accredited to use 1080 and Pindone for five years.
